Forming Teams:
Synergy?

During these times of dramatic changes and information overload, it is essential to be able to combine our capabilities in order to have greater competitiveness. Now, each one on their own, you can’t solve all the problems that come up. We can’t be specialists in all disciplines. The option is to create a team to take charge of such tasks.

Synergy is probably the most important result when work teams are formed. Synergy means that the result of working as a team is greater than the total sum of the results working individually. When you work as a team, tasks are divided and the expertise of each member is optimized, resulting in greater productivity. A team is “a group of individuals with one common goal: using the same methods, acting in a determined space and time, contributing individual abilities, based on shared values and mutual responsibility”.

All of this leads us to the conclusion that working as a team allows us to do greater things than if we were to do them alone, and more of them. Creating a team is not easy since several factors that don’t allow immediate integration relating to personalities come into play. However, we should have the will and put forth the effort to resolve those difficulties and to work as a team. Most of us are leaders, or we have been leaders, or we would like to become leaders. Many of us have felt unsure within our team, or have had problems working with members of the group. Sometimes the problems come from within us, because of our own difficulties communicating with others.

The group also has its own problems. Do we know what our real goals are? Do we always find the best way to reach the objectives? Is the team at a standstill?. Luckily, Man has a skill that makes him stand out, his ability to resolve problems. It is obvious that developing this skill contributes considerably to success in life.

By dedicating time and by practice, and basically by giving one’s all to complete the task. It is very easy to overcome this situation. The bottom line is getting to know yourself little by little in order to discern what works for us, and also what you can contribute to the team. Like everything else in life, there are no “magic recipes” that can be applied to everyone. However, the will and the desire to participate in the work teams will make distinguish TDR for “The Greatness of its Personnel”.

Become a part of and actively participate with your work team. And remember, at the end of it all we are all part of one team: TDR.
